Carrot Orange Detox Smoothie - Bright, Fresh, and Naturally Energizing

Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes
Servings: 2 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 medium carrots, peeled and roughly chopped (or grated if your blender is weaker)
  • 2 oranges, peeled and segmented (or 1 cup fresh orange juice)
  • 1 small ripe banana (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt (Greek or regular; use dairy-free if preferred)
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup cold water or coconut water, to blend
  • 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger (or 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional but brightens the flavor)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric (optional, for color and warmth)
  • 4–6 ice cubes, as needed
  • Pinch of black pepper (optional, to help your body use turmeric)
  • Honey or maple syrup, to taste (optional if you want it sweeter)

Method

  1. Prep the produce: Peel and chop the carrots into small pieces. Peel the oranges and remove any large seeds. If your banana isn’t frozen, that’s fine—ice will still give you chill and texture.
  2. Layer the blender: Add water or coconut water first, then carrots, oranges, banana, yogurt, ginger, lemon juice, and turmeric. Add a small pinch of black pepper if using.
  3. Blend until smooth: Start low, then increase to high. Let it run 45–60 seconds so the carrots fully break down. If it’s too thick, add a splash more liquid.
  4. Taste and adjust: If you want it brighter, add a bit more lemon. For sweetness, drizzle in honey or maple. For extra chill, add ice and blend again.
  5. Serve immediately: Pour into a tall glass. The color should be a vibrant golden orange and the texture silky, not gritty.
