Avocado Spinach Detox Smoothie – Creamy, Fresh, and Energizing

Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes
Servings: 2 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 small ripe avocado (about 1/2 to 3/4 of a medium avocado)
  • 2 packed cups fresh baby spinach
  • 1 small green apple, cored and chopped (Granny Smith works well)
  • 1/2 cup chopped cucumber, peeled if waxed
  • 1 cup cold coconut water (or plain water)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (plus more to taste)
  • 1/2-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and grated (or 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger)
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup, optional (adjust to taste)
  • A few ice cubes, optional for a colder, thicker smoothie
  • Pinch of sea salt (enhances flavor and minerals)

Method

  1. Prep produce: Wash the spinach, core and chop the apple, and chop the cucumber. Scoop the avocado flesh.
  2. Layer the blender: Add coconut water first, then spinach, cucumber, apple, avocado, lemon juice, ginger, and salt. This helps the blades catch.
  3. Blend until smooth: Start on low, then increase to high for 30–45 seconds. Add ice for chill and thickness, and blend again.
  4. Taste and adjust: Add a little more lemon for brightness, a drizzle of honey for sweetness, or a splash more liquid for a thinner texture.
  5. Serve right away: Pour into a chilled glass for the best flavor and color.
